About

Since 1984, siblings Bernadette, Jeff, and Eddie have been at the heart of the Big Banana Group, helping to shape some of Antigua’s most loved dining spots. After taking over Big Banana, they quickly established one of the island’s most popular restaurants, fondly known to many simply as “Pizzas,” where friends, families, and business partners gathered to enjoy great food in a welcoming atmosphere. In 1994, the company expanded after winning the bid to operate the restaurant at the International Airport, now known as Big Banana 17°61’, serving guests from all over the world as they pass through Antigua. In 1999, the family took over Spinnaker’s Restaurant on Dickenson Bay, which reopened as The Beach Restaurant after major renovations. With Asian and Mediterranean influences, it became the first restaurant to introduce sushi to Antigua and quickly became a favourite destination during its successful ten-year run. In 2011, the family opened The Larder, a gastronomic deli-café that has since grown into one of Antigua’s most well-known and loved restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to locals and visitors alike. Today, The Larder is a unique space where guests can meet for corporate meetings, set up a comfortable spot to work, celebrate special occasions, or simply grab take-out on the go. Familiar, classic, and always welcoming, The Larder takes pride in consistency, offering a wide and varied menu designed to satisfy every taste while maintaining the quality our customers have come to expect. The Big Banana Group continues to grow across the island. At Charr’d Wood Fire Grill, bold Caribbean and Mediterranean flavours come to life through the smoky heat of our Mibrasa wood-fire oven, creating a rich, distinctive taste that defines the experience. Charr’d serves breakfast bites, lunch, and dinner Monday – Friday 9 AM – 10 PM, and is one of the few places that serves Sunday Brunch every weekend from 10 AM – 4 PM. You can also find us on the south coast of Antigua in English Harbour with MAIA at South Point, where breathtaking panoramic harbour views meet refined, modern cuisine and a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere. Today, the Big Banana Group remains committed to the same philosophy it started with – great food, warm service, and creating places where people love to gather.
